Axiomatic is a year-long collaborative research project with Jayadev Athreya, Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics, University of Washington, on exploring parallels of creativity in the arts and in mathematics. Axiomatic is supported by a Simpson Center for the Humanities Collaboration Studio Grant. This project involves discussions and collaboration with various mathematicians, including Henry Segerman, Oklahoma State University; Ken Brakke, Susquehanna University; Sandor Kovacs, University of Washington; and Erik Domaine, MIT. Ceramics pieces were made by CAD/CAM prototyping and slipcasting of bone china during 2016 Artist Residency at Sundaymorning@EKWC in Oisterwijk, Netherlands.
